Expert Services

Workplace Canada is known for pioneering programs that respond to shifting immigration and workplace trends and lead to employment. The first program, in 1992, was an office training program that successfully led all its first graduates into full-time employment.

Now a range of accelerated programs are offered to fit the needs of the people arriving from all parts of the world. Services offered include information and referral, French and English language assessment, English language instruction, integrated language/skills training, employment preparation, business skills, mentoring and settlement services.

The programs offered are designed to lead to employment. They include information, referral and assessment, workshops, resume development and job placement support. We can also connect you with a mentor who will help you develop a resumé that employers are looking for.

What Will I Learn?

You will refine your job search skills, develop a personalized action plan and learn about strategies that will help you integrate into the labour market in Canada. The program features:

  • Needs assessment by trained assessors
  • One-on-one job search coaching with specialists who understand the job search needs of newcomers
  • Pre-employment workshops conducted in a computerized environment
  • Registration with Skills International, a web-enabled, searchable database
  • Learn about job search strategies and Canadian business perspectives
  • Work with a mentor who can guide you in your job search or settlement process, build professional networks, learn about Canadian workplace culture, and improve your self-confidence
